Treat yourself to some of the best weeks of the year with the inspiring ambience of the Provence. Close to Avignon (10km) in the heart of the Provence you will find our spacious holiday house, which with its 150 m² offers enough opportunity to switch-off and relax.
The newly-built Provence-style house has as walled garden which is surrounded by cypress and laurel trees. Between old cherry tress and some relatively young olive tress, old vines, a Khaki and two Jujuba’s (that gave the house its name of “Les Jujubiers“), one discover the necessary peace and quiet over a game of Boule.
The generous terrace – partly covered – is inviting to those who want to rest or read. Here one can also enjoy the meals that have been prepared in the well-fitted kitchen (17m²).
Should it be too cool in springtime to enjoy the solitude of the terrace, then the generous open fireplace in the big living-and dining room is ideal to enjoy a glass or two of red wine.
After having spent the day doing various activities that may include hiking, cycling, golf, reading, painting or excursions, up to five guests can then enjoy a good night’s rest in three comfortable bedrooms, all of them en-suite with a bath and toilet.
One bedroom of 18 m² with a double bed 1,80 m wide; one bedroom of 16 m² with two single beds with a width of 1,20 m width each, and one single bedroom of 11 m² (bed is 1,40 m wide).
On the top floor there is, apart from the single bedroom, another spacious room that may be used to relax, either by watching television (SAT-TV) or by reading. There is also a DVD player available so that you can enjoy those movies that you just never had the time to watch while at home. You can use an internet connection so that you can read and send e-mails (in case you want to do some work while on vacation).
The kitchen
The kitchen is ideal to cook typical Mediterranean food, either reliant on your skills as Chef or together with some friends. A gas stove with five hotplates and an electrical stove are ideal to prepare food from the ocean or the fields. Of course you will also find a dishwasher as well as a fridge with a freezer. A washing machine is situated on the room next door.
Surroundings of “Les Jujubiers“ Our house is in the so-called green belt of Eyragues, a village about 10 km from Avignon and 6 km from St. Remy de Provence. The ocean is around 60 km away; you can reach it by car when driving through the picturesque scenery of Camargue with its wild bulls.
The village lies in the heart of the Provence, one of the most beautiful cultural landscapes of Europe. It is also ideal for hiking trips and cycling tours. From here you can also start your sightseeing tour – or you can take on the challenge of one of the many golfcourses. Lodged between lavender fields and olive plantations and near antique structures from the Roman days or between churches and abbeys from the middle ages you will find in the Departements Bouches-du-Rhone and Var with its around 30 golf courses – of which two thirds are 18-hole courses.
For the daily requirements the village Eyragues also has a variety of shopping opportunities. These include 2 Restaurants, 5 bakeries, 1 chemist, two butcheries and a supermarket. On Fridays the picturesque market entices the purchase of fresh regional products.
And here a special tip: An excursion to the Provence does not only pay off in summer – it is a fascinating experience during every season of the year. And if you want to enjoy churches, museums, Restaurants and nature without the bustle of tourists – the months November until March are ideal.Autumn and winter are also a very special experience – a time for both individualists and those who enjoy the serenity of the colder seasons. Arrival: It is possible to arrive by car, train (TGV) or plane. Airports in the vicinity are Marseille (45 Minutes) or Montpellier (1 hour). If you prefer the train then take the TGV in the direction of Marseille until the station of Avignon (10 minutes from Eyragues).
Renting from a Saturday to a Saturday only. Please bring your own bedding. Final clean-up is your own responsibility. Long-term renting also possible (Pice to be agreed).
